What is CIS Benchmarks?

CIS (Center for Internet Security) Benchmarks are consensus-based best practices for securely configuring systems. They cover operating systems (Linux, Windows), cloud providers (AWS, Azure, GCP), databases, web servers, and more. Each benchmark contains specific configuration recommendations with rationale and remediation steps.
