Security Metrics

The FortWatch dashboard presents several key metrics that together give you a comprehensive picture of your security posture. Here is what each metric tells you.

Severity Breakdown

A visual chart showing the distribution of open issues by severity across all your assets. This widget uses color-coded segments:

  • Red — Critical issues
  • Orange — High issues
  • Yellow — Medium issues
  • Blue — Low issues

A healthy severity breakdown should have no red or orange. If the chart is dominated by red and orange, your infrastructure needs urgent attention.

Vulnerable Assets

This ranking shows which of your assets have the most and most severe open issues. Assets are ranked by a weighted score similar to the threat level calculation, with critical issues counting more than low ones.

Use this metric to identify which assets should be prioritized for remediation.

Issues to Fix

A prioritized list of your open issues, sorted from most critical to least. This is your action queue — start from the top and work down.

Recent Scans

Shows the latest completed and in-progress scans across all your assets. Each entry displays:

  • The asset that was scanned
  • When the scan ran
  • The scan status (running, done, failed)
  • A count of findings discovered

Scan Schedule Overview

Displays when your next scans are scheduled to run. This helps you anticipate when fresh results will be available and verify that all assets have active scan schedules.

Using Metrics Effectively

Check your dashboard regularly — at minimum, after each scan cycle completes. Focus on trends: is your threat level going up or down? Are new critical findings appearing? Are the same assets repeatedly showing up in the vulnerable assets list?
